A Message from President
Cynthia Norris

Greetings to all. This is an exciting time for all of us. This summer we will be holding our first Bi-Annual CHR Education Conference, moving away from the Triennial that we have had over the past years, since the early beginnings of the CHR programs. We will be meeting again in Las Vegas.

In this edition of the NACHR Newsletter we’ll provide a little more information about the conference for you to consider and join us. We are especially looking forward to your input on some of the topics we will have as Roundtable discussions. One discussion topic will be whether CHRs should be certified. Another will ask: to what extent are men victims of domestic violence in our communities? Why is it happening and what can we do about it? We will also have Tribal law enforcement, the Indian Country Law Enforcement Section (ICLES), presenting issues related to field health and law enforcement. They will address issues like crime scene security, and what you need to be aware of for your safety when you are out in the field and doing home visits. Please visit our web site, www.nachr.net/conferences/2008/ and register early. See you in Vegas!

Make a difference!
